BIO
Michael Knapp (@michaelknapp1304), originally from Pittsburgh and now based in New York City, is a Production Design Consultant and Visual Development artist for animated films, shorts, and commercials. He began as a freelance illustrator before joining Blue Sky Studios, where he contributed to the Ice Age franchise, Robots, Epic, Spies in Disguise, and the Oscar-nominated short No Time For Nuts.
He has also art-directed commercials for brands like McDonald’s, Chipotle, and Kroger. Now, he consults on feature films for Disney, Netflix, Sony Pictures Animation, and more. His work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, Spectrum, AIGA, and Annie Awards, with exhibitions in New York, Paris, and beyond.
